1/ ILGA: who we are
The International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA) is a worldwide association of national and local groups dedicated to achieving equal rights for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgenders everywhere.

Founded in 1978, the organisation has more than 400 lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender full member groups from over 90 countries, and over one hundred and fifty associate and individual members. ILGA member groups range from small collectives to national groups and individual cities.

2/ The job: a short description
The officer we look for will be responsible to organise a number of organisational issues, such as membership administration, finance, coordination and support of regions of ILGA, supporting the World Board and the organisation of ILGA's World Conferences, and the communication and marketing of ILGA both in the organisation and to the outside world.

The office at present has two staff members. This officer will be the third. And at the same time we are recruiting a women´s officer. The ILGA office is based in Brussels, Belgium.

The job will be located in Brussels. Applicants must have the right to work in the EU.

The ideal candidate is committed to working for equality for LGBT persons and has:
- an understanding of issues relating to discrimination against lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgendered people,
- fluency in English and a good working knowledge of Spanish; Other languages a plus,
- the ability to assimilate and communicate information effectively,
- excellent computing skills.

ILGA welcomes applications from transgendered people.

Terms of employment
The post is a fulltime job (37,5 hours per week). Gross Annual Income will be in accordance with the responsibilities of the job, and is also dependent on experience. Further terms of employment available on request.
